CROTMS Portal Autofill Helper

The helper is used by authorized CROTMS staff to fill client-authorized credentials on supported government portal login pages. It does not submit forms, bypass CAPTCHA, read OTPs, or bypass multi-factor authentication.

Data handled

The helper temporarily handles the portal address, portal type, username, password, and an optional portal reference such as PAN or GSTIN. CROTMS releases this information only after an authenticated user with permission to manage the relevant client requests portal login.

Storage and retention

Portal passwords are encrypted when stored by CROTMS. The browser helper keeps a requested autofill payload only in Chrome session storage, clears it after filling, and automatically expires it after five minutes. The helper does not use advertising storage or sell data.

Sharing and transmission

The helper does not send portal credentials to advertising networks, analytics providers, or unrelated third parties. It uses the data only between the authenticated CROTMS page and the allowlisted government portal selected by the user.

Permissions

The extension requests session storage and access only to CROTMS domains and supported Income Tax, GST, and MCA portal domains. These permissions are required to receive a short-lived login payload and fill the matching portal fields.

Security and user control

CROTMS records portal-access actions for accountability. Users may remove the extension through their browser at any time. Removing it deletes extension session data.
